The store is in the 2020 building, but the entrance is on De Maisonneuve Blvd. West,
across the street from what used to be Eaton`s downtown Montreal branch and has since become Les Ailes de la Mode. This is between University St. and McGill College. It is also accessible by Metro at the McGill station.

DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION:



1- FREE - (minimum purchase required) in the Greater Montreal and Laval area. The Greater Montreal area includes the East and West Island areas, as well as the south shore - Brossard, st-Lambert... - areas. Deliveries in the west island are on thursday and saturday.

2- Out of town deliveries: (there is a charge) - Dates to be confirmed.

OTTAWA and Surroundings:

a) the MONTREAL-OTTAWA axis (Hudson, Valleyfield, Hawkesbury...etc) on the soth-west side of the Ottawa Valley.

b) the MONTREAL - GATINEAU - OTTAWA axis (Pointe-Calumet, Montebello, Thurso... etc) on the north-east side of the Ottawa river.


Quebec City and Surroundings:

a) LAVAL - QUEBEC City axis along the north shore of the St-Lawrence River.
b) Montreal - Quebec City axis, along the south shore of the St-Laurence River.


Also, deliveries for furniture purchased in either of our stores, Montreal or Laval to
the following regions.

The Eastern Townships, Sherbrooke, Knowlton...etc

The Laurentians, St-Sauveur, St-Jovite, Morin Heights, Mont-Tremblant...etc

We can also arrange for deliveries to cities in all of the Canadian provinces and all of the American states, Including Hawaii and Alaska. Shipping methods and rates will vary according to location. Items that happen to floor models on display in the Montreal or Laval stores may require special packing for shipping purposes. International deliveries to other continents and countries can also be arranged.

Note that the inventory may vary a little between the Laval and the downtown Montreal stores. This variation is small but unavoidable.

Most of our furniture lines are bought in Europe, mainly Italy. However, NO merchant could nowadays certify that the whole piece is, for instance, Italian. Components, like leather, could be from Northern Europe, Brazil or from other regions in the world. Other furniture components could be from somewhere else and, of course, final assembly could have taken place in a different country. Globalisation is a world wide phenomenon. Consequently: Great efforts are made to insure that the quality of the selected pieces of furniture meet the rather high quality standards that our clientele has come to expect from Mariette Clermont.

Furniture design was inflenced in the 20th century by the trends initiated by the Bauhaus school. The greatest designers were Le Corbusier, Mies Van Der Rohe, Marcel Breuer and Eileen Gray.

An perfect example of modern architectural and furniture design would have to be the Farnsworth House by Mies an Der Rohe...

Furniture Stores, Contemporary, Transitional and
Modern Design Furniture, in Montreal and Laval for over 60 Years

Mariette Clermont Inc. is a furniture retailer that has been present on the Montreal scene since the early fifties. The Laval furniture store, with adjacent warehouse, was opened in 1975. The Downtown Montreal store, on De Maisonneuve West, at University St, was opened in 1988. The original store was on what has become Plaza St-Hubert. It carried, at time, both appliances and furniture. That branch was closed and replaced by the Downtown store. The company now carries only contemporary modern design furniture.

The furniture on display in the stores is mostly of contemporary European design, the major part being of Italian design. The buyer travels frequently to Milan, Cologne and other capitals to select trendy, fashionable and beautiful pieces of furniture from the best European or Italian designers and manufacturers. Some living room furniture is made in Canada by Bugatti (Montreal) or Williams (Ste-Hyacinthe, Qc).

Examples of the contemporary modern furniture that we offer would be furniture by Calligaris (Italy) such as dining rooms, tables, chairs, coffee and end tables. TV and audio units.
